The lens is made with the reading area in the bottom of the lens, the power is reduced towards the top of the lens allowing the patient to see 2 metres (room distance) into the distance.
Office lenses have a much wider and deeper reading area than a progressive lens. Due to the massive working areas there is virtually no adaption time to these lenses.
With a progressive lens the computer (intermediate) area is situated below the pupil. This means that when using a computer it must be below eye level. To combat this most progressive wearers will tilt their head back thus incurring neck strain and posture issues. Office lenses are designed for the office environment relieving the wearer of all the above issues.
While using a computer the wearer does not need to lean in as you would with reading glasses, thus eliminating neck strain.
Freedom to see in the near distance and read without having to off the glasses.
Widest and deepest field of vision possible for computer and reading.
