Paul qualified from Dublin’s D.I.T Kevin Street in 1975 as an optometrist. He briefly worked in practice in Cork while searching for a location to set up his own independent opticians. In 1977 he established his own practice in the leafy suburbs of Dalkey village on the outskirts of Dublin city. Since then the practice has proven itself with its longevity as it sits on the same foundations after 35 years. The reason for the practice’s success is down to the level of professional care that Paul Gill Opticians offers each patient. Every sight exam is meticulously conducted by Paul Gill so you know when you make an appointment you are seeing the very best. Paul boasts a conservative figure of 60,000 eye examinations to date so you know you are in safe hands.
Jamie Gill F.B.D.O – Dispensing Optician
Jamie has been part of the Paul Gill workforce since 2003. In the early days Jamie trained in Keele University UK in the art of spectacle glazing with the guild of the Worshipful Company of Spectacle Makers. While occasionally using these skills, he worked as an optical assistant until 2009 when he decided to train as a dispensing optician in ABDO College Kent UK. During this 3 year course he gained valuable skills and knowledge in all aspects of optics which he uses to guide patients in their frame and lens decision making. He looks forward to meeting you!
Mary Kennedy – Optical Assistant
Mary has been part of Paul Gill’s team for over 12 years. During this time she has gained a vast knowledge of optics and has found her niche in customer care. As a trained secretary with extensive skills in computer administration, Mary looks after all referrals and administrative tasks within the practice. As an optical assistant Mary has developed a keen sense of fashion, a honed eye for colour coordination and talent in frame to face shape recognition. She demonstrates these skills when finding the perfect frame to suit each individual’s look. Mary looks forward to seeing you!
